About Dagashi Bar

If you are exploring Tokyo nightlife and want something that feels playful, nostalgic, and different from the usual dining scene, Dagashi Bar is one of those places that instantly catches attention. Tucked away at Japan, 〒160-0021 Tokyo, Shinjuku City, Kabukicho, 1 Chome−6−2 T-wing 5F, this spot brings together the relaxed energy of an izakaya with a fun twist that makes the experience memorable. The atmosphere feels lively from the moment you step in. Instead of trying too hard to be modern or overly polished, the place leans into personality and creates a casual setting where people can settle in, laugh with friends, and spend hours enjoying food and drinks.

One thing that makes Dagashi Bar stand out is the easygoing dine-in experience. Since it focuses on enjoying the atmosphere inside rather than delivery services, the attention stays on the social side of eating and drinking. It feels like a place designed for conversations that become louder as the evening goes on and tables that keep ordering another round. The bar area naturally becomes part of the experience too, especially for visitors who enjoy watching drinks being poured while soaking up the energy around them.

The menu style fits the izakaya mood perfectly. Small plates make sharing simple, and quick bites keep things flexible if you want to snack while drinking. There are also late-night food options, which can be a huge bonus when exploring Shinjuku after dark. Drink choices add even more variety, with beer, cocktails, wine, and hard liquor available for different tastes. Some guests may even appreciate all-you-can-eat options because they create a more relaxed and enjoyable pace where groups can keep trying different flavors while conversations continue across the table. The setting also carries that energetic Kabukicho character, where bright city lights and busy streets outside contrast nicely with the warm interior feeling inside, creating a space that feels entertaining, social, and comfortably informal for visitors and locals alike.

A very fun and cool experience! The atmosphere was very cool with dim lighting and lanterns along the ceiling. The candy was a lot of fun! Most of it was not in English so it was a total surprise. We decided to call it quits when we (unfortunately) came across a piece of squid jerky. The staff were very friendly and helpful. What a unique and fun experience!

Very fun, not for EATING food, since the main course is “dagashi” which is snacks and candy. The drinks are super basic, but great for foreigners who want to try a bunch of Japanese snacks! You have to order at least 1 drink, and the searing fee is 600 yen but for how many things we got to try, it was worth it! Make a reservation in advance or show up early as it got really busy later in the evening from 8 onwards.

It is a nice place, but keep in mind the main dishes are candies! Yeah, you may order some salads and fries, but you'll be eating up a bunch of japaneae snacks and candies before you cam get what you ordered. It us an interesting atraction and prices are not that high, so I believe it's worth a trial.
